Brominated SBS is a high molecular weight brominated flame retardant prepared by brominating styrene-butadiene block copolymer (SBS). It has the characteristics of high molecular weight, no blooming, high thermal stability, migration resistance, and environmental friendliness. Its structure is similar to that of polystyrene, so it has good compatibility with polystyrene. As a flame retardant, it can replace hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD);
It is widely used in expandable polystyrene (EPS) and extruded polystyrene foam (XPS).
