A halogen-free flame retardant, also known as melamine cyanurate (MCA for short), is insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and formaldehyde; it is weakly acidic and can be well dispersed in oil media, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, odorless, very stable within 300°C, and decomposes and sublimates at 350°C.
It is widely used as a halogen-free flame retardant component in nylon, acrylic emulsion, polytetrafluoroethylene resin and other olefin resins. It is especially suitable for use in two pure nylons, nylon 6 and nylon 66, with good flame retardant effect, small processing smoke, and can easily achieve the flame retardant grade of UL94V-O; it has extremely low application cost, excellent electrical properties, mechanical properties and coloring properties and other advantages. |
